Positive Behavioral & Instructional Supports

Cass Middle School continually strives to be a safe and orderly school with a high level of respect among faculty, students, and parents. Over the past year, we have analyzed many areas of the school as part of our school improvement plan. As a faculty we feel the need to be proactive in establishing a behavior code that takes into account the constant changes in our demographics and continuing community growth.
The CMS staff has developed a school-wide behavior plan in coordination with PBIS: Positive Behavioral &Instructional Supports. The main ideas of this program are: Be Committed, Motivated, and Successful.
This program is designed to foster a climate of cooperation and academic excellence while also teaching students to be responsible and respectful citizens. Our plan is to make use of effective instructional strategies, have consistency in correction and procedures, and give positive reinforcement to correct behavior. This will give the students the skills necessary to be successful now and in the future.
Below is our school matrix that outlines what is expected at school in order for everyone to  be.....
Committed, Motivated, and Successful.
